Greek Judas plays rock versions of songs from the Greek Rebetika tradition. Rebetika is the Greek equivalent of early American blues. They are songs of the Greek underworld and of the refugees fleeing Turkey who filled the Athens slums in the 1920s. It's the music of knife fights, hash dens, prison life & heartbreak. Why I Smoke Cocaine, I'm A Junkie, Two Mangas In Jail, The Smugglers… We play them loud, on guitars, bass & drums.

Since then, the ensemble has grown to become an orchestra under the leadership of its Founder and music director, Michael Ibrahim. The NAO Orchestra is comprised of musicians from both Arab and non-Arab backgrounds who are either students or professional musicians in the community.
