I work as a freelance violinist and violist in New York City playing mostly in classical ensembles as well as a guest in many projects ranging from Arabic, Greek, Jewish and other world music genres. Working in a studio environment is a way I feel constantly connected to my sound and my voice as a string player.
My most recent recording projects include working in the string quartet behind singer songwriter Natalie Merchant, and earlier in the year, multi-tracking for Weird Al Yankovic's "Mandatory Fun" album.
In addition to my freelance work I am involved with a fantastic group called the String Orchestra of Brooklyn. Being a part of this ensemble has been a big part of my life since 2009. Please read more about it on the website under the 'links' tab.
I am available to play in orchestras, string quartets, bar/bat mitzvahs, and romantic background music for your marriage proposal and wedding. I also offer private lessons, specializing in technique I have learned in my many years of experience playing classical and international folk music, specializing in Arabic, Greek, and Quebec style fiddle .
